| This wonderful example has been preserved in various shades of green transluscent calcite. These are amongst the most aesthetic fossil bivalve shells in the world. The shell has been fully prepared and the matrix has a cut base for upright display. This locality shut its gates and backfilled the quarry some 30 years ago now, and so these fossils from this world famous locality are very difficult to obtain thesedays, only a few high quality specimens reach the open market for sale. A stunning and unique display piece which is approximately 200 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
