| This very early sponge is approximately 445 million years old and shows lovely detail. On the reverse side of the specimen is the old victorian museum label, which is in superb condition. We believe it formed part of the fossil sponge collection at Southampton university, until it became surplus to their requirements. One for the discerning collector.
