| description |
|
| This nautilus has been preserved in pale yellow transluscent calcite. The specimen was discovered by the late John Huxtable during a temporary exposure circa 1984. The specimen has a lovely centre and some pathology. The nautilus, because of the pathology has only been prepared one side only, still an interesting feature. The matrix has a cut and level base for upright display. Quality English fossil nautilus rarely come on to the open market for sale. Approximately 170 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
