| description |
|
| This specimen was collected many years ago from the very well known Faringdon gravels. This particular specimen is from the Upper Jurassic (Kimmeridgian) that has been re-worked into the overlying lower cretaceous Faringdon sponge gravels. It exhibits the classic reddish/orange colour that is so characteristic to this location. This is an exceptionally large, very well preserved example of a Chimerid mandible. The specimen is from a lifetime's collection. |
