| This complete, very large specimen has its border intact, which is a rarity for this species. One side of the ammonite has been preserved with an iron stained patternation, same as the sedimentary rock Picturestone. On the reverse side there are stunning sutures and chambers of various coloured calcite. The very centre has a fossil oyster growth and has not been preserved, but still tells a fascinating story. This marvellous ammonite was discovered by David Sole and fully prepared by Andy Cowap. A stunning display ammonite which is extremely rare from this iconic locality on England's South Coast. A display stand is included with this fossil. Approximately 176 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website.
