description  
This large and wonderful example exhibits stunning irridescent colours which include deep reds, green, orange, pink and flashes of blue, a rare colour. The ammonites venter has large spiney nodes and the lustre on these looks metallic, jut amazing preservation. Ammonites of this size and quality are virtually non existent to be found nowadays from this iconic Gault locality. This specimen was discovered in 1973 and resided in the Underhill Gault Clay collection. Approximately 108 million years old. First described by Spath in 1923.
