| description |
|
| This large individual specimen was described by SPATH in 1928 and is one of the Gault Clay classic ammonites. This specimen was discovered circa 1974 and has resided in the Underhill Gault collection. The specimen displays the most intense irridescence and is a wonderful spectacle. The colours include deep greens, yellow, red and the ventral outer whorl is mostly intense pink, very few are this iridescent and with this many brilliant colours. In different light settings it shines different colours, like opal. One for the serious collector of rare Gault ammonites or the collector of iridescent fossils. Approximately 108 million years old Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
