All the ammonites inte4rnal open chamber are packed with thousands of tiny 'Dogs tooth' calcite crystals which are highly aesthetic .   As can be seen from the images, you can see why this is referred to as "Beetroot Stone". These ancient Stromatolites are structures formed in shallow water by organisms called "cyanobacteria". This specimen has been cut and polished to reveal the beautiful structure within the stone. A classic stromatolite!
