This stunning cut and highly polished ammonite has beautiful open chambers which are packed with tiny calcite crystals. The specimen was discovered in 1986 and has remained in the same collection ever since. This is the only quality Lytoceras from this area we have seen cut and polished. The matrix bases have been cut flat and attached are anti slip and scratch pads, for peace of mind when displaying on glass or wooden surfaces. A unique statement piece which is approximately 190 million years old.
This Biferoceras is the only one we have come across with wonderful pathology. All one side has grown inwards and the other side outwards. Collectors of pathological fossils will appreciate how rare this specimen is. Approximately 196 million years old.
This absolutely superb specimen has taken many hours to prepare. The fossil was discovered in 2005 but has just been prepared. The ammonite has been preserved in solid calcite and has wonderful suture patterns and a pinpoint immaculate centre. The ammonite lies in an aesthetic piece of rock which has a cut base for upright display. Attached to the base of the rock is an anti scratch pad for peace of mind when displaying on wood or glass surfaces. Approximately 170 million years old.
