  ref AMM7460
This tremendous and rare ammonite was discovered in 2002. The ammonite's spines have been sympathetically restored using casts/moulds of genuine armatum spines, giving the appearance of what the creature's anatomy was like some 195 million years ago. This fossil locality has long since been back filled and is now an industrial estate. Many hours of invested time has gone into preparing this specimen and is one of only a handful to exist from this locality. Serious collectors of very rare lower liassic ammonites will appreciate how rare this unique ammonite is. The centre has not been preserved this is typical preservation from this locality. The matrix in the ammonite's centre has preserved a small phosphatic pebble (C~LAST) and two Belemnite fragments. Approximately 195 million years old. A large display stand is included with this magnificent ammonite for display purposes. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website.
