This beautiful display ammonite was discovered in 1989 after a cliff fall. The ammonite has been preserved in solid calcite and is heavily ribbed. The matrix base has been cut flat for upright display. These wonderful large display ammonites from this locality are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain thesedays. This 167 million year old fossil will make a totally unique gift either for the collector or indeed an interior designer.
Found in the 1980's is this exceptional and very rare ammonite from this well known oolite locality. Many hours of careful preparation have gone into revealing not just only the main ammonite but the small ammonites and the fabulous belemnites which really add aesthetics to this piece. Preserved in a large matrix bowl is this very large Becheiceras specimen which is surrounded by 13 Androgynoceras' and one Tragophylloceras. The specimen has been meticulously cleaned to this high standard. Specimens of this size are rare and are highly sought after amongst ammonite collectors throughout the world.
