This highly aesthetic multi ammonite fossil has been fully prepared and was discovered in 2010. All the ammonites other than the largest are Promicroceras planicosta. The colour contrast between rock and ammonites is magnificent. The matrix has a cut base for upright display. A fantastic display fossil either for the collector or indeed around the home. Approximately 200 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |

There are times when fossils are not always preserved perfectly and this is an incomplete ammonite. However, the natural irridescence is exceptional, showing orange, red, green and turquoise. A stunningly beautiful and colourful ammonite. |

This is a wonderful, matrix free example and has been prepared both sides. The quality and colour of this ammonite is excellent. Ammonites are becoming rare from this classic locality due to no erosion and over-collecting. A wonderful example of this classic Skye ammonite. |

Fossils from this well known locality are becoming rare due to lack of erosion and over-collecting by collectors, colleges and universities. This particular example was found in the 1980's and is a matrix free, white calcite, Lytoceras. Lytoceras from this locality are rare and very seldom come on to the market. This specimen has slight wear on one of the edges, this is due to natural erosion. A wonderful and highly beautiful specimen. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
