This superb multi ammonite specimen was discovered in 1983. These ammonites preserved in semi pyrite are from a very rare layer within the cliff, and not often seen since the large landslip of 2008 covered it over. All the fossils within these thin layers glean with a golden sheen, lovely for displaying. Approximately 200 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |

This really good example has been reserved partly in 'crackle' calcite which is highly aesthetic. The ammonite during preparation, has been left on a small piece of matrix which also has a flat base for upright display. The ammonite was initially discovered in a temporary exposure by the late John Huxtable in 1984. A really nice display fossil which is totally unique and approximately 170 million years old.
