Another open section of this large ammonite chamber which is packed with tiny 'Dogs Tooth' calcite crystals. These rare, open crystal chambers are rare and will make very aesthetic natural display pieces around the house. This fossil was discovered in 1991 and is approximately 200 million years old. This partial ammonite whorl is packed with wonderfully preserved 'Nail Head' calcite crystals, the light refracts beautifully through the large crystal. This specimen was unearthed by the late John Huxtable from a temporary exposure in 1984. Exceptionally rare to get these calcite growths in this rare oolithic ammonite chamber.
