  The quarries around Minchinhampton were the source of many fine fossils but have now, sadly, been filled in or overgrown. This particular fossil was more or less unique to this locality and is a fossil limpet shell. The specimen is 3 dimensional and is highly sought after amongst bivalve collectors throughout the world.
