This incredibly rare fossil cycad has been preserved within a chert nodule, it is that rare, we are having difficulty finding another from this world famous locality which produces the stunning corals. Cycadeoidea is an extinct genus of bennettitalean plants known from the Jurassic and Cretaceous. This specimen is approximately 150 million years old and was discovered in 1978, it has remained in the same collection ever since. The detail on the cycad is lovely especially under magnification. One for the collector of extremely rare fossil plants from the UK. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website.
