The Wren's Nest Fauna are always exquisitely preserved and this small, fully matrix free calcified crown is no exception! The specimen, although small, would make a great addition to any crinoid collection.
This magnificent piece of crinoid has been semi pyritised and has a lovely natural gold sheen. The specimen displays free flowing leaf and cirri along with stems. The detail is incredible. Pentacrinites of this quality is becoming exceptionally scarce to collect from tis iconic Jurassic locality. Approximately 200 million years old.
Specimens of fossil crinoids are becoming scarce on the Jurassic coast. This particular specimen has been broken and repaired, as is quite often the case with these crinoids. The specimen has a partial crown and a wonderful stem with exquisitely detailed cirri. A fine specimen from this world famous classic locality.
This wonderful piece exhibits stems and cirri still attached to the stem, most in semi relief of the rock. It will make a lovely piece for the collector and is approximately 200 million years old. Discovered in 2015 after a small landslip.
