This is the only specimen of this species we have seen from the Somerset coast in all the years we have been trading! The fish is complete and is a "little beauty". Lower lias fish are highly sought after and this one is approximately 205 million years old.
Fishes from this world famous stretch of coastline are excessively rare to find especially thesedays. This more or less complete fish is preserved on a squared block of shale, the only part missing is part of the tail. Fishes of this quality rarely come up for sale and are highly sought after. Approximately 300 million years old.
This is a more or less complete example of this very early and ancient shark fossil. The preservation is exceptional throughout especially its spines. The specimen is approximately 385 million years old and would make a perfect addition to any fish collection.
Collectors of fossils on the North Yorkshire coast will appreciate how rare fish remains are. This is a lovely hand sized nodule that has been carefully acid prepared, showing the characteristic diamond shaped scales of this classic UK fish. A lovely example!
