This wonderful and intense specimen has taken many hours of preparation. The main ammonite's sutures are the finest we have ever seen from this locality. Any fossil collecting from this location is now strictly forbidden due to over collecting by Universities, schools and private individuals. The smaller ammonites are Ludwigia cf.obtusiformis and the second largest ammonite is Ludwigia cf. agria. This magnificent multi ammonite piece was collected in 1986 from a loose pebble on the beach and was rescued from destruction by the sea. The matrix has a cut base for upright display. A real "one off" for the discerning collector. Approximately 176 million years old.
A lovely example for the collector of classic UK liassic ammonites. The ammonite itself, lies in a generous piece of matrix and has been preserved in solid calcite. Approximately 200 million years old.
