This wonderfully preserved, intense multi ammonite fossil has had many hours of preparation invested into it. The ammonites have amassed together in a small pocket an d are around 20 million years old. This fabulous fossil was discovered during a temporary exposure in 2008. The base is flat and attached is an anti slip and scratch pad for peace of mind when displaying on fragile surfaces. This specimen is from a rare locality and a unique piece. Many years ago, when the caravan site at Freshwater was being developed, many wonderful inferior oolite fossils were discovered in their excavations. This particularly fine example is "popped" Bredyia which has been fully developed on both sides. The cast is also a perfect fit and obviously comes with this specimen. This is a rare inferior oolite ammonite, especially of this high quality. |
