description |
|
From an old victorian collection comes this wonderful and very clear partial carapace shell of a marine turtle that lived in the waters around London 42 million years ago. The markings on the shell are exceptional. There is an added bonus that on the reverse of the carapace is the under-body bones that have been partially preserved. You can just imagine that this was a more or less complete specimen until erosian happened. A fantastic addition to any collection and a totally recognisable fossil from this classic london clay locality. |
