description |
|
This incredibly rare fossil pine cone was discovered in 1979 and has remained in the same collection until now. The detail internally is amazing and a must for the serious collectors of very rare UK fossil flora. The cone has just come away from its branch, which in itself is an incredibly rare feature. The greensand nodule it lies in has been shaped to fit into a drawer or a cut base on the lower side is flat for upright display. Fossils Direct are constantly striving to bring our customers old and new, the very finest fossils from around the United Kingdom. Approximately 110 million years old. Also included are two modern day cones for comparison. |
