| description |
|
| This incredibly rare fossil nautilus has been preserved in solid chalcedony and was discovered well over 100 years ago in Victorian times. The specimen comes from a small private museum which has sadly now closed down. Any cephalopod material preserved in chalcedony is extremely rare. This nautilus glows orange when held up to the light. A real one off specimen for the collector of exceptionally rare UK fossil nautilus. |
