description |
|
Over 40 hours of preparation have gone into this magnificent display fossil. Unlike most fossils you see elsewhere prepared in this style, this Nautilus is not stuck in the rock, this is 100% genuine and how it landed on the sea floor approximately 172 million years ago. The colours and detail throughout are really nice and clear. This particular specimen was the only Nautilus to be discovered during a temporary exposure in 1983 and is extremely rare. British display fossils of this calibre are becoming increasingly scarse and highly sought after by collectors worldwide. Fossils Direct are constantly striving to bring to our customers the very finest quality and prepared material from the United Kingdom. There are more images if needed on request and supersized images in showcase fossils. |
