description |
|
One of the rarest fossils we have ever seen from Bearreraig,a stunning double Tretospira fossil. This specimen was found by Andy Cowap in 1999 and remained with him ever since. The fossil took many hours to prepare by Andy himself who has also signed and dated the piece on the underside. Upper lias outcrops at Bearreraig are few and far between and thats why this one-off double Gastropod fossil is a must for the serious collector of extremely rare Gastropods. The chance of finding another fossil like this one from Bearreraig is virtually zero due to the lack of erosion and outcrops. A truly marvellous display Gastropod fossil. Approximately 180 million years old. |
