description |
|
This incredibly rare, early armoured jawless fish, loved approximately 385 million years ago. The specimen has fantastic details throughout and was collected in 1800s . It remained within a museum collection until its sale to the late GORDON WALKDEN in 1972. The fish lies in a sandstone nodule and still retains a tattered old museum label on the reverse side. These early fished from this famous Devonian locality are highly prized by collectors worldwide. One for the discerning collector of Old Red Sandstone fish. Could this be a Hugh Miller specimen??? |
