description |
|
A very rare fish preserved within an ironstone nodule which was discovered in 1959 and has remained in the same collection ever since. First described by (Giebel in 1848).Usually from this long lost locality research shows that fish are rare and the most common animals were insects and ferns. Elonichthys is from the family of fish known as Paleoniscidae. A really important addition for the serious collector. |
