description |
|
This is a complete and very large fossil fish Palaeoniscum freieslebeni. This fish lived in the Zechstein Sea 250 million years ago. It probably lived in shoals, like herring, and was preyed upon an eaten by larger predatory fish. This is a magnificent museum specimen the finest example we have ever offered, perhaps in the world, of this size and quality. The specimen is in a large and heavy block of marlslate, which has a cut base for display options. This would make a centre piece of anyones collection. |
