description |
|
A stunning piece of preparation work carried out by Andy Cowap. The surrounding rock has been sculptured to resemble a smashed window with the yellow ammonite suspended from a piece of rock. When a light source is present at the rear of the fossil, the colour of the ammonite is spectacular. This type of highly skilled preparation work was pioneered by Andy many years ago. The matrix has a cut base for ease of display. Approximately 200 million years old. |
