description |
|
This large display ammonite was discovered in 1970 and has remained in the same collection ever since. Where the outer whorls of the ammonite have been broken, inside lies thousands of small calcite crystals in each chamber, highly aesthetic. The ammonite comes with a black wrought iron stand and makes a stunning display fossil. These large calcified ammonites from Black Ven are extremely difficult to find or obtain thesedays. The very centre of the ammonite isn't preserved which applies to 99 per cent of these stellares. This ammonite would grace any home as a one off unique display piece or would suit an interior designer. Approximately 200 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
