description |
|
The specimen is approximately 167 million years old. A superb sculptured ammonite specimen which was prepared by Andy Cowap. Many hours of patience and skill go into preparing fossils of this quality. The ammonite shell has a complete mouth border and a perfect centre and has been prepared both sides for maximum effect and aesthetics. These ribbed ammonites are popular not only with collectors but also interior designers. Andy Cowap was the pioneer in this type of preparation technique in the early 1980's. The matrix has a flattened base for ease of display. |
