description |
|
A beautifully preserved small pebble which has been split open and after many hours f preparation, there was intense clusters of ammonite on both sides. These small nodules are completely unique to this locality. The outer surface has been ground smooth but not polished which gives it a lovely effect. This fossil is approximately 200 million years old. Billions of these small ammonites were killed in a single catastropic event, most likely by a poisonous algal bloom. One for the discerning collector of fine English fossils. |
