description |
|
This stunning ammonite was discovered in a very small exposure during the mid 1980's. The ammonite is solid calcite and has a section exposing beautiful suture patterns. There is a chunk of Oolithic matrix on the reverse side which acts as a natural display stand. Very few fossils were discovered at this temporary location, but this specimens is one of the finest found. Many hours of preparation work have gone into this display fossil which is approximately 167 million years old. One for the serious collector of fine ammonites. This specimen has the "X" Factor! |
