description |
|
A really one off piece of sculpture, perfectly executed by Andy Cowap. A large chunk of fossilised wood which has been well preserved. All the matrix has been taken off except for underneath the ammonites, this in turn, has been sculptured replicate the root system in a swamp. The light brown colour change at the base of the matrix is a layer of hard fossilised oysters on top of the wood. Many hours of preparation have gone into this concept fossil. There is no adhesive/glue involved in this preparation -only painstaking work!!! Approximately 200 million years old. A real collectors piece - a totally one off piece, signed by Andy Cowap. |
