description |
|
A wonderful association of partial branches and ammonites which makes this a highly aesthetic fossil!! The ammonite preserved in yellow calcite is a Xipheroceras planicosta. The fossil wood derives from the Monley Puzzle tree which thrived around this area some 200 million years ago. These classic woodstones are only occur in one place in the world and that is Black Ven, Lyme Regis. Prepared by Andy Cowap. |
