description |
|
The ammonites of Scunthorpe are highly sought after throughout the world. This particular specimen was found in the Lower Lias clays of these famous quarries which are sadly no longer in use. This specimen is matrix free and is a large example. It has taken many hours of careful preparation to extract this rare and highly ornate ammonite from its surrounding matrix. This particular ammonite is definitely one for the serious collector and this is one of the best we have had to offer!! |
