description |
|
This natural irridescent ammonite was discovered in 1973, and the ammonite and the matrix has been re-prepared to this extremely high quality. When turned to the light the ammonites natural colours include orange, yellow, reds and green with a hint of blue and purple. The ammonite's centre is immaculate. The specimen lies in an aesthetic piece of hard shale which has a level base for upright display. These superb ammonites are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain thesedays as tight restrictions have been put on the site. Approximately 208 million years old. |
