description |
|
Preparation to this standard is an absolute joy to look at, by none other than Andy Cowap. A total one off Phylloceras which has taken days to meticulously prepare from a classic locality which is sadly no longer accessible to the collector. This ammonite in our opinion, is certainly one of the finest to ever come from this location and the chances of another specimen better than this and cleaned by Andy Cowap, coming onto the open market in the future, are remote. Both sides of this world class ammonite are preserved with all shell intact. The last septal wall has been etched out to amazing effect. This fossil would grace any top collection worldwide. Approximately 180 million years old. |
