description |
|
This wonderful double ammonite specimen will make a superb and unique display fossil for either the home or office space. When these two ammonites died some 195 million years ago, they drifted to the sea bed and during the long process of fossilisation this nodule formed around them and so protecting them. The ammonites are preserved in solid calcite. The matrix has a cut base to which an anti-scratch and slip mat has been attached for peace of mind when displaying on glass or wooden surfaces. These stunning, highly ribbed ammonites are becoming scarse from this world famous locality. |
