description |
|
This beautiful multi-ammonite fossil was discovered nearly 20 miles inland during the mid 1990's on the Ilminster Bypass. The size of ammonites range from 8-27mm. This is the only multi-ammonite fossil we have had from this temporary exposure over 20 years ago and its very unlikely any more will come to light. Many hours of preparation has gone into this wonderful fossil. The matrix is much lighter in colour than that of Lyme Regis/Charmouth. An incredibly rare multi-ammonite assemblage from the Andy Cowap collection, approximately 200 million years old. Prepared by Andy Cowap. |
