description |
|
A stunning example of this very popular ammonite which on the Yorkshire Coast is preserved in black calcite, however in this unique locality in the South West of England the fauna is preserved in orange and yellow calcite. Ammonites of this quality with a perfect centre are rearely seen. The matrix has a cut base for ease of display. Approximately 180 million years old. Prepared by Andy Cowap. Becoming very scarse. |
