description |
|
This is one of the rarest and finest associations of fossils we have seen from this location. The fossil exhibits a complete starfish with stunning details (Stenaster sp) a carpoid, which is an extinct Echinodern (Homocystis sp), and a Gastropod (Belerophontacean, sinuites cf subrectangularis). Prospecting around this area is now strictly prohibited. This wonderful fossil was disovered in 1970 and has resided in the late professor GORDON WALKDEN collection ever since. One for the serious collectors of very rare Scottish fossils. Approximately 460 million yearfs old. |
