description |
|
This fossil seed fern is not only aesthetically stunning visually, but exceedingly rare. The fossil was discovered in 1983 and is one of the only ferns we have ever seen from this world famous locality. The detail on each leaf (pinnule) is wonderful and the fern sits just proud of the shale surface. There is also a partial Psiloceras planorbis ammonite which confirms the zone. Resided in the late GORDON WALKDEN COLLECTION. One for the discerning collector of incredibly rare English fossils. Approximately 209 million years old. |
