This stunning juvenile ichthyosaur sku8ll has been preserved in a small nodule. It was discovered in 1988 and developed out using aecitic acid by David Costin. David was world renowned for his preparation of fossils from the Dorset coast using this acid t6echnique. The ichthyosaur jaw's have around 20 teeth preserved. Skulls of this size from Lyme Regis are incredibly rare and are highly prized by collectors worldwide. The ichthyosaur's eye or sclerotic ring is stunning and totally complete. Ichthyosaurs had the largest eyes of any known vertebrate creature past or present. The top of the skull is preserved and also the vertebrae which attach on to the skull including the occipital bone. Overall, this fossil is absolutely magnificent and is approximately 200 million years old. A totally unique fossil from this ancient marine creature. Will fit into any world collection.
