description |
|
This wonderfully preserved tail vertebra was discovered in 1973 and has resided in the late professor GORDON WALKDEN collection ever since. This cretaceous, herbiferous dinosaur was closely related to the iguanodon, one of the most iconic English dinosaurs. The creature this vertebra came from would have been in excess of 30ft long and stood around 20 ft tall. The close up detail on the bone is magnificent and the preservation of the bone cell structure. Very rarely do vertebra of this quality from English dinosaurs come on to the open market for sale. This is an incredibly rare fossil and one for the true and discerning collector. Approximately 130 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
