This specimen was collected circa 1860 and was sold by the flamboyant, highly regarded Victorian dealer Bryce Mcmurdo Wright from his Great Russell Street shop, which was based more or less next door to the British Museum. This specimen of this well known sponge is completely 3D and matrix free and shows all the characteristic details of this species. One for the collector of historic pieces. |
