description |
|
Although the exact date of when the specimen was collected is not known, it must have been sold originally circa 1860. This specimen comes from the famous fossil dealer Bryce Mcmurdo Wright who had a shop on Great Russell Street, London, right next to the British Museum. Bryce supplied the very rich and the museums at that time with specimens. This specimen is of a splattered fish but it still has some shape to it. Preserved on a worked piece of chalk. |
