| description |
|
| This stunning multi fossil death assemblage exhibits two ammonites (Parkinsonia rarecostata & Oecostraustes bomfordi), four bivalve shells (Chlamys sp, Gonioma cf.literata, partial Pleuromya and a small Gresslya sp), also a belemnite guard. The main ammonite is complete to its centre and has been fully prepared by Andy Cowap using traditional techniques, no iron powder used. Discovered by David Sole circa 1998. The matrix has a cut base for upright display. Very high quality fossil assemblies such as this from this famous locality are becoming increasingly hard to find thesedays. A wonderful and aesthetic display piece which is approximately 167 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
