description |
|
This astonishing pathological ammonite was discovered in the early 1960's and then spent almost fie decades as a teaching specimen in the geological section within Manchester University/Museum. Straight from the proto conch, this ammonite was severely sick, but carried on growing. Specimens of this calibre very rarely come on the open market for sale. Thi8s particular example was exchanged when the department closed down. One for the4 serious collector of pathological fossils, this really is a wonderful and extreme example. Approximately 201 million years old. Fossils Direct is a premium collectors website. |
