| This absolutely stunning solid calcite ammonite has been professionally cut and polished by a seasoned lapidarist, which has taken many hours to achieve this mirror finish. The internal chambers have colours ranging from yellows, purple, pinks and greens, and the few open chambers are packed with thousands of tiny calcite crystals. These quality ammonites from this iconic fossil locality are becoming incredibly scarce to obtain thesedays, due in part to the closure of the quarry over 18 years ago now. This ammonite pair will make a totally unique and aesthetic display item which is approximately 200 million years old The cut pair resided in the late professor GORDON WALKDEN collection.
